Warrior Women's Wrestling earned its first dual victory in the program's history on Friday night, defeating St. Andrews 20-10 in the Indiana Tech Duals at the Schaefer Center. Rochester's Natalie Kutzli earned the key win for the Warriors, securing a fall.
In what was the most placements by the program in a single event since its inception, Warrior Women's Wrestling secured six placements at the Alma Open on Saturday, Jan. 20.
It was a dominant showing for the Warriors during their first-ever home meet on Thursday night in Garth Pleasant Arena, with all four competing Warriors winning their matches against the Alma Scots.
Women's Wrestling completed a series of firsts for the program on Sunday morning, with the team securing its first-ever tournament and individual placements at the Albion Invitational. Rochester placed 11th of 17 teams at the event.
Despite being shorthanded due to injury, Women's Wrestling made a statement in its season debut with five wins across three wrestlers. Senior Natalie Kutzli headlined the Warriors with a 2-2 day, while newcomer Najeh Russo made a strong showing in her first collegiate event, going 2-1 before an unfortunate injury sidelined her for the rest of the tournament. Sophomore Michael Hamp produced a win herself while wrestling unattached.
