Volleyball drops Senior Night match to #23 Aquinas
(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's volleyball team celebrated senior night on Friday with its final home match of the season, inviting the #23 Aquinas Saints to Garth Pleasant Arena. The WHAC Regular Season Champions, Aquinas, started off on the right foot in each of the three sets on the evening, to stay undefeated in conference play.
Aquinas used a 5-0 lead to start the first set to propel them to a 25-12 set win. Alivia Everitt gave RCU their first points with a kill, and Hannah Maynard followed that up with an ace. Madalyn Geisenhaver, Chante Hudgins, and Kendal Zeiter all added to kills to come within three points at 9-6. AQ rattled off a nine-point swing in order to take a firm lead in the set. Liljana Margiljaj added a few kills towards the end of the set for RCU.
Madelyn Geisenhaver started the second set off with a pair of kills, and Chante Hudgins took advantage of a dig over the net to start the set up 3-1. AQ responded, though with an 11-1 run to grab a 12-4 lead. Liljana Margiljaj added five kills throughout the set for RCU, as well as Alivia Everitt and Geisenhaver combining for a couple of blocks.
Aquinas once again started the final set off hot with a 7-0 run. Alyssa Swanson earned the first RCU point on a kill. The teams continued to trade points throughout the set, with Mackenzie Keefer and Hailee Mancogna earning kills, but the Saints' hot start was enough to propel them to the match win.
TOP PERFORMERS
Liljana Margiljaj led the team offensively with nine kills, with Madelyn Geisenhaver adding five. Mackenzie Keefer totaled 19 assists on the evening.
Madelyn Geisenhaver totaled a team high 13 digs in the match, with Karli Rohraff and Ashley Horne both recording eight. Alivia Everitt totaled three blocks in the match.

The Warriors will begin the final week of the regular season on Friday, November 7, when they travel to Indiana Tech for a matchup with the Warriors. The match will begin at 7 PM.
