Women's Basketball drops WHAC game to the Grey Wolves

(Sylvania, OH) - The Rochester Christian women's basketball team headed to Ohio for a matchup against the Lourdes Grey Wolves on Tuesday evening. The Grey Wolves used a strong first half in order to stay undefeated in WHAC play. 

 

FIRST HALF

Jacey Somers started the scoring for the Warriors with a layup just over a minute into the game. The two teams would trade baskets throughout the quarter, with Kendal Zeiter and Samone Andrews giving RCU a 6-2 lead. LU battled back and was able to tie and take a slim lead before there were four lead changes throughout the rest of the half. Lourdes ended the quarter on a 9-2 run. 

 

Kendal Zeiter and Tambre Williams got the Warriors on the board with three points early in the second, before Lourdes took control of the period with a 12-0 run. Amal Younes and Zeiter added the final three points before the end of the half. 

 

SECOND HALF

Following a couple of Lourdes' baskets to begin the half, the Warriors shots would start to fall, going on a 24-13 run throughout the rest of the quarter. Ashley Loon and Mylah Aalse each were able to knock down a couple of three's to bring the lead down to single digits. 

 

Lourdes came right back with a 9-0, before Tambre Williams added a score and Kendal Zeiter made a pair of free throws. Lourdes's offense though was able to stay hot and was able to close out RCU.

 

TOP PERFORMERS

Kendal Zeiter and Mylah Aalse were the sole Warriors in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Ashley Loon led the team with four assists in the game. 

 

Kendal Zeiter and Tambre Williams each recorded seven rebounds in the game, while Zeiter would lead the team in steals with 2.

 

UP NEXT

The Warriors will be off for Thanksgiving break and will be back on the court on December 3 when they host the Saints from Aquinas at 5:30 PM.
