WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO #5 MARIAN FOR TUESDAY NIGHT MATCHUP

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Women's Basketball (1-0) will finish up its home-and-home series with the #5 Marian Knights (0-0) on Tuesday night in Indianapolis. Rochester and Marian last faced off during the Warriors' 2022 Homecoming Weekend, where the Knights spoiled the party 60-48.

The Knights have high aspirations for this season, looking to contend for a NAIA National Championship following a quarterfinal appearance last season (29-6 record overall). The Knights have been tabbed second in the Crossroads League preseason poll.

The Knights bring back NAIA National Player of the Year Ella Collier, named the Crossroads League Preseason Player of the Year. Last season, Collier averaged 18 points a game on 50/40/90 splits and recorded six steals and three blocks against Rochester in the prior year's matchup.

Rochester comes into this matchup fresh off its 71-57 win over the Lambton College Lions, where the Warriors saw an impressive debut from freshman Jacey Somers. At the same time, experienced guards Celeste Mershimer and Imari Martin also put up strong showings.

The Knights boast a high-powered offense, with the team scoring at least 60 points in all but one game last season. Marian has dominated the Crossroads over the last decade, with the team winning seven straight league titles prior to last year.

Rochester will look to shock the Knights on their home floor and secure a trademark win for first-year head coach Jared Ocampo.
