Men's Basketball earns WHAC postseason honors; highlighted by Tymias Williams as WHAC Defensive & Newcomer Player of the Year

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its yearly postseason honors, and several Rochester Christian Warriors men's basketball players earned honors among the several All-Conference teams. 

FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE | DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR | NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR | ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAM

TYMIAS WILLIAMS

Tymias Williams is the Warriors' first Defensive Player of the Year and the third Newcomer of the Year. Williams was a defensive force all season long for RCU, leading the WHAC in steals per game at 2.5 and being fifth in the WHAC in blocks per game at 1.4. Williams also pulled down 7.9 rebounds per game and scored 18.7 points per game, which were both fifth best in the conference. 

SECOND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE

JAMES FISHER

James Fisher is making his second appearance on the All-Conference Second Team. Fisher recorded a WHAC-best 68.1% field goal percentage while putting up 13.4 points per game. Fisher blocked 1.2 shots per game and brought down 6.9 rebounds, which were eighth and ninth best in the WHAC this season. 

SECOND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE

LINDEN HOLDER

Linden Holder makes his first appearance in his first season in an RCU uniform. Holder was one of the top passers in the league this season, averaging 4.7 assists per game, which was the third-highest in the league. The Warrior guard posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.1. Holder would put up 11.9 points per game as well. 

CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER TEAM

Jeremy Neal was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The senior was honored for his commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

The WHAC announced its All-Academic teams, which include sophomores and above in Academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The 12 Warriors honored were Lucas Brannen, Larsen Carr, Vir Chowdhary, Dustin Farrow, Ashton Goul, Vance Lin, Jeremy Neal, Jagat Pratap, Roland Vincze, Julius Walker, Cyrus Watkins, and Tymias Williams.
