Men's Basketball earns 25-point win over William Penn
(Milwaukee, WI) - The Rochester Christian men's basketball team headed to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a matchup against 9-3 William Penn on Thursday afternoon. The game took place at the home of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks, Fiserv Forum.
A strong first half that saw the Warriors shoot 63.6% from deep and scoring 61 points would give the Warriors a solid win heading into the Christmas break.
FIRST HALF
Following a made WPU layup on their first possession, RCU scored 10 of the next 12 points with Linden Holder and Tymias Williams each hitting a three and Tyler Allen and James Fisher hitting layups. Darnell Turner Jr. continued the scoring with an "and-1", while Jamil Mashhour and Ashton Goul got into the scoring column as well. Turner Jr. scored his second "and-1" opportunity before the under-10 timeout.
Tyler Allen and Linden Holder each hit three's as RCU took a firm hold of the game with a 16-point difference. The team would then go on a 15-7 run to close out the first half of the game.
SECOND HALF
The final 20 minutes saw both teams put up points, with the Warriors narrowly outsourcing WPu 48-42. Both teams came out with hot shooting with Tymias Williams and James Fisher hitting buckets and Tyler Allen hitting a three. Fisher put up another bucket and was fouled on the chance and converted the free throw as well. A couple of William Penn shots would fall while Allen recorded five straight points as the Warriors had a 8-4 run going into the under-10 timeout.
Darnell Turner Jr. would come out of the timeout and nab six of the next eight points before a nearly two-minute scoring drought for RCU. Dustin Farrow and Vir Chowdhary scored buckets late in the game as the Warriors were able to pull out the 109-84 victory.
TOP PERFORMERS
Tymias Williams once again led the Warriors offensively, by scoring 22 points, with Tyler Allen and Darnell Turner Jr. scoring 19 and 18, respectively, while James Fisher, Linden Holder, and Jamil Mashhour all added double-figure points as well. Williams led the passing as well with seven assists.
Tymias Williams brought down 10 rebounds, recording a double-double, his sixth of the season. Williams had a pair of blocks as well.

The Warriors will have 12 days off before they return to WHAC play against Defiance College on December 30 in Defiance, Ohio with a 2 PM tipoff.
