Men's Basketball earns WHAC win over the Golden Eagles

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's basketball team played its final home game of 2025, hosting the Cornerstone Golden Eagles. A 10-point advantage in the first half propelled the Warriors to a 75-63 win over Cornerstone. With the win, RCU moves to 8-3 on the year and 4-2 in WHAC play.

FIRST HALF

CU began the game on an 8-2 run over the first four minutes of play. Jamil Mashhour broke up the scoring run with a basket, and Darnell Turner Jr. had a "and-1" score to bring the Warriors to within a point early on. CU, though, would be able to respond right back with a couple of scores. Tymias Williams, Linden Holder, and James Fisher scored on three straight possessions as the teams headed to the under-10 timeout.

Tyler Allen, Dustin Farrow, and Linden Holder combined to put the Warriors on an 11-4 run to give RCU a 28-20 lead. Darnell Turner Jr. added a three-pointer and a layup for a quick five points, and Holder would close out the scoring in the half with a three of his own.

SECOND HALF

Six Tyler Allen points opened the second half for the Warriors, before a James Fisher rebound and dunk forced a CU timeout. Allen continued his scoring streak with four of the next six points, giving him 10 for the half in just about six minutes. The teams traded possessions back and forth before the time hit the under-10 timeout.

Tymias Williams and James Fisher got in on the scoring again with a couple of made buckets, putting RCU up by 17 points with 7:57 left to play. A couple of Fisher free throws pushed the Warriors' lead out to 20 points. A couple of late CU three's brought the lead back down to 12 points to close out the RCU win.
