Women's Cross Country closes WHAC Season placing 8th at WHAC Championships

(Adrian, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's cross country team competed on Friday afternoon at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship at Siena Heights. The Warriors as a team finished in eighth place, totaling 220 points and a team time of 2:33:35.

The WHAC also released its Champions of Character awards as well as the WHAC All-Academic Team on Friday.

REST OF FIELD PERFORMANCES

Cornerstone took home the WHAC Championship after earning 26 points, with all five runners finishing within the top-8. They finished with a team time of 1:48:40.

Bronwyn Nel from Indiana Tech was the top individual finisher, recording a score of 21:09.3 for the event. 

CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER

Mackenzie Montagano was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The senior was honored for her commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

WHAC ALL-ACADEMIC

The WHAC announced its All-Academic teams, which include sophomores and above in Academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The pair of Warriors honored were Mackenzie Montagano and Liliana Tasich.
