Women's Wrestling's Julia Snyder competes at the NAIA National Championships

(Park City, KS) - The Rochester Christian women's wrestling team appeared at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championships for the first time on Friday, with RCU wrestler Julia Snyder earning her spot at the National Championships last month. 

Snyder's first matchup of the tournament had her matched up against the fifth-ranked Diana Gonzalez from Life. Gonzalez took an early 3-2 lead through the first period, before picking up four more points in the second. 

Snyder would then receive a bye until the second round of the consolation round, taking on Nizhoni Tallman from Evergreen State. Snyder would advance with a default win. 

Snyder's next matchup was against Kylie Robledo from Baker. Robledo was able to earn a tech fall win with an 11-0 score as Snyder's run at the tournament came to an end.
