Women's Wrestling earns multiple placements at the Alma Open

(Alma, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's wrestling team returned to the mats following a nine-day break to wrestle at the Alma Open on Saturday. The Warriors had four wrestlers finish within the top-4 of their weight classes for the event and had a total record of 12-11 for the tournament. 

 

Julia Snyder would go 2-0 in the 110 weight class (WC), earning a pair fo 10-0 tech fall wins. 

 

Tracey Kessler finished in second place in the 124 WC with a 1-1 record, earning an 8-2 decision win. 

 

Anika Yakuber (131 WC) and Aleah Swilley (145 WC) would both earn third-place finishes at the event, both hav king 3-1 records. Swilley would earn three fall wins, while Yakuber would have two fall and one tech fall wins. 

 

Going 2-2 and earning a fourth-place finish was Jazmyne Lake in the 160 WC. 

 

UP NEXT

The Warriors will head back on the mats next weekend, down at the Indiana Tech Open on January 23-24, with the 23rd beginning at 2 PM and the 24th at 9 AM.
