Volleyball's Ashley Horne wins WHAC Defensive Player of the Week

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its weekly Player of the Week honors for October 13-19 and Rochester Christian's Ashley Horne took home the Defensive Player of the Week award for volleyball. 

Horne, a junior from Oxford, Michigan, aided the Warriors to a 3-0 week, including a pair of 5-set wins over Lawrence Tech and Defiance. Horne totaled 66 total digs on the week over the three matches and averaged 5.08 digs per set. In addition, she recording a receiving percentage of 98% with only one error.

Horne joins Kendal Zeiter as RCU players who have won Player of the Week honors this season for the volleyball team. Zeiter earned WHAC Offensve Player of the Week back on September 15. 

The Warriors will have a pair of games on homecoming weekend with a home match on Friday, October 24, against Kuyper and on Saturday, October 25, against the Siena Heights Saints. The Friday match will start at 7 PM, while the Saturday match will start at 12 PM.
