WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK COMPETES AT OAKLAND UNIVERSITY
Rochester Hills, MI. – The Rochester University track and field teams sent a two of their national championship hopefuls to Oakland University this past Saturday for the Grizzly PR Classic. The Warriors would take on numerous Division 1 schools in the invite, including Oakland, Eastern Michigan, and Detroit Mercy (among others) in a strong meet. The two Warriors came within 2pt of beating a Division 1 school and a Division 2 school who competed at the meet on Saturday.
Starting off for the warriors was Sophomore Natalie Kutzli would throw the hammer and discus on the day, finishing 3rd among scoring student athletes in the discus. Sophomore Lilly Livsey would also compete for the Warriors in the discus, hammer, and shot-put events. Lily finish top 12 in all of her events with her best finish coming in the shot-put event.
Head Coach Sean Foulkes commented: "This wasn't the day we were hoping for, but it we are getting closer to hitting the big ones that will punch their tickets to nationals, and as long as we do the little things right over the next couple of meets, we should find ourselves in a great position to make something special happen."
The Warriors will start to wrap up their outdoor season with one final meet at Concordia University in Ann Arbor on April 24th, before making their way to Indiana Tech on the 29th and 30th for the WHAC Championships!
