Women's Track & Field round out indoor season at WHAC Championships

(Grand Rapids, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's indoor track & field team competed at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships on Saturday. The team would see one school record fall at the event. 

TRACK RESULTS

Aurora Jacobs and Mackenzie Montagano were the two Warriors competing on the track side of the Championships. 

Aurora Jacobs set a new school and personal record in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:45.76, besting the record by three seconds. Jacobs would also compete in the 1,000 meter run and finishing with a time of 3:24.67

Mackenzie Montagano competed in the 3,000-meter run, ending with a time of 11:31.45. 

FIELD RESULTS

McKenzie Reese was the sole field athlete for the Warriors at the Championships. Reese threw in the shot put event, hitting a mark of 9.42 meters. 

CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER TEAM

Aurora Jacobs was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The sophomore was honored for her commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

ALL-ACADEMIC

The WHAC announced its All-Academic teams, which include sophomores and above in Academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The three Warriors honored were Amanda Usrey, McKenzie Reese, and Mackenzie Montagano
