Women's Soccer drops match to Aquinas, 3-1

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's soccer team closed out its home schedule on Wednesday afternoon, taking on the Saints from Aquinas College. The Saints, who are ranked 23rd in the NAIA, used a trio of goals in the match, including a pair of second-half insurance goals, to earn the 3-1 win and a crucial three points in the conference standings.

The Warriors fall to 6-7-4 overall and 2-4-4 in conference play, while the Saints improve to 8-5-1 overall and 7-2-1 in WHAC play.

Brooklyn Perron (5-7-3) played the full match in net for RCU, making eight saves against the 11 shots she faced.

AQ controlled the first part of the game, playing mostly in the Warriors' defending half, and got on the board early with a goal in the 13th minute, past a diving Brooklyn Perron. The remainder of the half saw the Saints continue to outshoot the Warriors, 13-3- and 7-1 in shots on goal.

Following a pair of Saints goals in the 63rd and 65th minutes, the RCU offense started to come alive, as they put up seven shots in the half against the Saints' defense. The offense continued to push, and Olivia Howes was able to grab her 10th goal of the season off a pass from Makenna Kennedy in the 88th minute. The Warriors tallied a couple more shots on the defense but were ultimately unable to net any more goals.
