Women's Soccer plays to 1-1 draw on Senior Night

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's soccer team took the field on Saturday afternoon against the Crusaders from Madonna University for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) battle. Both teams would score in the game, resulting in a draw. RCU moves to 5-4-3 overall and 1-1-3 in WHAC play, while MU moves to 5-5-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.

Senior Mackenzie Fournier (1-0-1) played the full 90 minutes in net for the Warriors, making seven saves against the eight shots she faced.

The tight battle began with both teams getting their opportunities on the offensive side. RCU had a couple of corner kicks and shots within the first 30 minutes. In the 37th minute, Aliana Perez received a pass from Kaylah Joyce, and she shot it past the Crusader goalie to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.

15 minutes into the second half, Madonna would even the match with the aid of a long pass from the backline. Throughout the final 30 minutes, each team yet again had multiple solid possessions, but were unable to score as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
