(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian Women's Soccer team kicked off its season on Saturday afternoon at the Michigan Stars Soccer Complex and took on Indiana University-East. IU East came into the match with a record of 0-0-1 after opening its season against WHAC opponent Madonna on Thursday.
The first half saw both teams working to gain possession, with RCU controlling most of the half. A couple of good runs from IU East resulted in a goal with 10 minutes remaining. The Warriors tallied a pair of shots on goal throughout the first 45 minutes.
The second half was much of the same, with RCU continuing to control play as they rallied off 12 shots compared to the Red Wolves' one. RCU's best opportunities came in the final minutes as several shots went just above the crossbar.
The Warriors will be next on the pitch on September 3rd when they travel to Lansing, Michigan, for a match against Great Lakes Christian for a 3:30 PM kickoff.
