RU WOMEN'S GOLF SEASON REVIEW
Battle Creek, MI – The RU women's golf season came to an end at the WHAC Championship at Bedford Valley Golf Club. While short-handed, Grace Russo was able to compete individually in the season finale event, finishing 46th overall.
The Warriors were able to field two individuals for most of the fall season but started their season at the Lourdes Fall Invitational short-handed due to COVID protocols with Russo competing on her own, finishing a tie for 32nd.
Both Russo and Lexi Seley were able to compete in the Concordia Invitational with Russo finishing 13th and Seley finishing 17th place in the event.
The Warriors then competed in the first of two invitationals held by Lawrence Tech University. The first took place at Farmington Hills Golf Club where the Warriors were once again short-handed due to COVID protocols. Russo was able to compete and finished 19th on the day. The following LTU invitational was held at Washtenaw Golf Club and saw the return of Seley to the lineup finishing 25th while Russo finished T-22.
The Warriors then traveled to the WHAC Preview held at Bedford Valley Golf Club. Both Russo and Seley competed finishing 31st and 32nd in the 36-hole event, respectively.
The Warriors rounded out the season Chemung Hills Golf Club, competing in the Cleary Fall Invitational where both Russo and Seley competed.
The spring season left the Warriors short-handed once again with only Russo competing in the spring season. The first event was the Saints Spring Invite, held by Aquinas College at Sunnybrook Country Club, followed by the Lourdes Spring Invite where Russo finished 43rd.
Due to COVID protocols, the Cleary Spring Invitational was cancelled, leaving the Warriors to complete their season at the WHAC Championship. Russo competed finishing 46th in the 54-hole marathon event.
The season was capped off with the conference awards ceremony where Russo was awarded the WHAC Champions of Character Award to finish off a great freshman season.
