Mervyn Decides on RC
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.--Rochester College head golf coach Clayton Bissett is pleased to announce the signing of Midland High School's Rachel Mervyn.
Mervyn joins the Warriors after winning two letters for the Chemics and head coach Jeff Babin. Mervyn received numerous honors in 2013 inlcuding Honorable Mention All-Valley and team awards such as the 110% Award, Coaches Award, and Spirit of the Game Award. She also collected the Coaches Award as a junior and Most Improved Player as a sophomore. Mervyn recorded a best round of 86 in her high school career. During the summer Mervyn won the Team Ryder Cup Championship in the Michigan Players Junior Golf Tour.
In the classroom Mervyn was an All-Academic performer in 2012 and 2013. She was also on the Honor Roll in high school and received perfect attendance in the fall of 2010-2011.
Coach Bissett on Rachel's signing:
"I am very excited to sign Rachel. I think she will be an excellent addition to the program. She will fit right in because of her attitude and work ethic and I think she will be able to use those two attributes to her advantage as she makes the jump from high school to college. I am looking forward to working with her the next several years," said Bissett.
