Bissett Looks to Build on Opening Weekend
MARSHALL, Mich.—The Rochester College women's golf team began their 2013-2014 season this past weekend at the Olivet College Invitational. The Warriors took 16th out of 18 schools on the weekend.
The Warriors finished with a 379 score on Friday but improved the following day as they shot a 375 and finished with a final score of 754 on the weekend. Bethel College beat out the host school, Olivet College, for the top spot on the weekend.
Audrie Bedenis led RC with a score of 185 between the two days. Danielle Godair finished a stroke behind Bedenis and Samantha Tarakoff finished just two behind her at a 188.
"Our mindset going in was one of confidence. We had a few good practice rounds and had played the course before. I think we played pretty well. Obviously, it could have been better but you could say that about every round," said Clayton Bissett. Coach Bissett remains optimistic as the team heads to Defiance, Ohio later this week, "now that we have our first tournament under our belt, we will be looking to improve on our scores from last tournament. This course allows for better scores and we need to make sure we take advantage of that."
