Women's Bowling rounds out WHAC season at WHAC Championships
(Lansing, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's bowling team took on the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship on Saturday. The event featured each round being a best-of-5 game series.
ROUND 1 - VARSITY
The Warriors took on the Fighting Saints from St. Francis (IL) in the first round of the tournament. St. Francis took the first two games by scores of 210-169 and 233-187. RCU responded right back, tying the match up at two games each with 176-143 and 215-172 wins. The final set of the match had the Fighting Saints narrowly defeating the Warriors, 176-167.
ROUND 2 - VARSITY - CONSOLATION
The Warriors would then square off against the Warriors from Indiana Tech. The two teams split the first two games, with IIT taking the first, 217-191, and RCU taking the second, 203-201. Indiana Tech was able to edge out a 215-213 win in match 3, before winning 204-192, claiming the 3-1 win, and knocking RCU out of the bracket.
ROUND 2 - RESERVE
The Warriors would take on the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils in the first round of the reserve side. The teams split the first pair of games 205-139 (LTU) and 211-165 (RCU). The two teams played close in game three with LTU earning a two-point win (178-176), and closed off the match with a 179-158 win.
ROUND 3 - RESERVE - CONSOLATION
RCU took on the Fighting Saints from St. Francis (IL) in the first round of the consolation bracket. After St. Francis took an early 1-0 lead, RCU battled back with wins 191-162, 180-157, and 147-132 to advance to the next round.
ROUND 4 - RESERVE - CONSOLATION
In what would be the final round of the day for the Warriors, RCU would take on the Indiana Tech Warriors. RCU won the first and fourth matches, 223-153 and 180-176, but dropped matches 2, 3, and 5, falling out of the tournament.
