Women's Bowling takes home 5th at the 2nd American Heartland Tournament
(Canton, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's bowling team bowled for the second straight day at the SuberBowl in Canton, Michigan, taking part in the second American Heartland Tournament of the season. The event featured teams bowling 15 team games, followed by 15 3-baker games.
The Warriors finished in fifth place in the tournament, totaling 2,657 pins through the team games, 2,650 pins in the baker games for a total of 5,307 pins. The team series average of 885.67 is the second-highest mark in program history for a 3-game series.
RCU SCORES
The top RCU bowler was Sara Ritchie, scoring 597 total pins with a pair of 203 games. Ritchie's score was high enough to place fifth for the tournament and is also the seventh-highest mark in program history for a three-game series. Also entering the record books is Molly Crouch, scoring 554 total pins and putting her in a tie for 10th place in the three-game series records. Crouch placed 15th for the event and recorded a 204 high game.
Sage Malott was the final RCU bowler to bowl in all three games, scoring 504 total pins with a 181 high game. Riley Brownrigg and Kenzi Nieman each bowled in a pair of games on Sunday, scoring 360 and 334, respectively. Brownrigg tallied a 198 high game, while Nieman scored a 178 high mark.
The final two bowlers for the Varsity team were Emerson Rietsch and Nataleigh Eagle, each bowling in a single game. Rietsch hit 177 pins, while Eagle knocked down 131 pins.
RCU JV SCORES
As a team, the Warriors totaled 4,958 pins throughout the team and baker games and would wind up placing third in the JV portion of the tournament.
Anna Dosenberger's total score of 555 is the ninth-highest mark in program history for a three-game series.

REST OF FIELD PERFORMANCES
Lawrence Tech took home the top spot in a tight battle, beating second-place St. Vincent College by 11 pins as LTU totaled 5,589 pins.
Mareana Pilyih from St. Vincent College earned the top individual spot for the Varsity portion of the tournament, scoring 632 pins with a 246 high game.
