Women's Bowling places 14th at the Midwest Collegiate Championships
(Sterling Heights, MI) - The Rochester Christian women's bowling team competed on Saturday and Sunday at the Midwest Collegiate Championships at the Imperial Lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The event featured 25 team games followed by 16 baker games, with the top eight teams making the final bracket.
As a team, the Warriors would wind up in 14th place out of the 42 teams competing. The team knocked down a total of 7,260 pins for the event, hitting 4,333 throughout the team games and 2,927 during the baker games. The team was 194 pins from making bracket play.
RCU SCORES
Atop the RCU leaderboard was Sara Ritchie, who finished the team games in 22nd place after totaling 964 pins, with a high game of 222. Riley Brownrigg was the only other Warrior to bowl in all five of her games, hitting 872 pins and recording a high game of 197.
Nataleigh Eagle bowled in four games on Saturday, scoring a 634, scoring a high game of 185. Molly Crouch and Kenzie Nieman each would bowl three games for RCU, scoring a pinfall of 530 and 443, respectively, while tallying high games of 214 and 164.
Emerson Rietsch and Sage Malott were the next two bowlers, bowling in two games each. Rietsch totaled 367 pins and a 202 high game, while Malott scored a 365 and a 198 high game. The final bowler for the team was Jazmin Brant, scoring a 158 in her sole game.
REST OF FIELD PERFORMANCES
Milligan earned the top seed in bracket play, recording a total pinfall of 7,816 pins. SCAD Savannah, the #4 seed, would take down Cumberland, the #7 seed, in bracket play.
Paige Richards from Marian University would narrowly beat out second-place Emily Cheesman for the individual title, hitting 1,064 total pins.
