RITCHIE WINS BOWLER OF THE YEAR, NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR; WHAC RELEASES BOWLING AWARDS
The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference has released its awards for the 2023-24 bowling season, and freshman Sara Ritchie took home both the conference Bowler of the Year and Newcomer of the Year award in her first collegiate season. This marks the first time a Warrior athlete in any sport has won both a Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in the same season.
The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference has released its awards for the 2023-24 bowling season, and freshman Sara Ritchie took home both the conference Bowler of the Year and Newcomer of the Year award in her first collegiate season. This marks the first time a Warrior athlete in any sport has won both a Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in the same season.
Ritchie also takes home a First Team All-Conference nod, the first time a Warrior has done so. Ritchie led the conference in average pins with an average of 203.8 at the four WHAC Jamborees, ahead of the next closest WHAC bowler by .38 pins.
The Warriors' Jazmin Brant was selected to represent the Warriors for the WHAC Champions of Character Team. Four Warriors - Grace Conklin, Hannah Drys, Nataleigh Eagle, and Nadia Yabs - were named to the WHAC's All-Academic Team.
