GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Warriors will look to keep their momentum going following their Nov. 26 win against Lourdes on the road at Aquinas on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are looking for an important win to stay among the top seeds in the WHAC standings.
THREE KEY THINGS
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE FOR SAINTS
The Saints are led by forward Claire Gregwer, who has been a dominant two-way presence for the Saints since the start of the season. The 6-1 forward averages 22.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting a league second-best 43.9% from the three-point line. Gregwer won WHAC Player of the Week in the first week of conference play.
WARRIORS FROM DEEP
In the Warriors' win over Lourdes at home, the team was electric from three, shooting 10-20 to propel the team to victory. Several Warriors can light it up from distance, evidenced by six Warriors hitting shots from beyond the arc in the contest. RCU will look to keep those percentages up to get an important win.
TEAM DEFENSE
Both teams in this matchup aren't necessarily known for their offense. Rather, it'll be defense that dictates the outcome. Both teams possess defensive cornerstones that will directly impact the flow of this matchup. For Aquinas, Gregwer mentioned above, and guard Ashlyn Wilkes will be factors. At the same time, the Warriors turn to senior Imari Martin and forward Jacey Somers for their impact on the perimeter and in the paint.
SPORTS INFORMATION SPOTLIGHT
Two Warriors - Melanie Moore and Tambre Williams - sit in the WHAC's top five in field goal percentage.
AROUND THE CONFERENCE
Three teams—#22 Indiana Tech, Northwestern Ohio, and Cornerstone—are undefeated in conference play's third week. The Warriors are a game behind Aquinas, and a win here could prove important in a few months when the WHAC Tournament is seeded.
