RIO GRANDE, Ohio - RCU looks to get a momentum-shifting win at #10 Rio Grande on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. The Warriors, amid four consecutive road games, will look to figure out a few things on both sides of the ball before the team enters conference play next week.
THREE KEY THINGS
NO STRANGER TO THE WHAC
The Red Storm currently sit at 3-0, and have faced two WHAC teams: Lawrence Tech and Siena Heights. In the game against Lawrence Tech, Rio dominated, scoring over 25 points in three quarters. Against Siena Heights, things didn't come nearly as easy, with the Red Storm having to come back from down to have a shot at winning the game. Watch for forward Jazmine Jordan, who leads the Red Storm in rebounding with 11.6 a night and was pivotal in the two wins.
SOMERS AIMS TO CONTINUE DOUBLE-DIGIT STREAK
Sophomore forward Jacey Somers has averaged 16 points per game in the Warriors' last two games. The dynamic forward has found much of her success in the midrange, creating her own shots while opening up the paint for RCU's bigs.
WARRIORS CONTINUE TOUGH NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
The Warriors have had no shortage of solid opponents throughout the season, with Rio Grande standing as the highest-ranked opponent the Warriors will have faced. Currently, RCU has four games against teams receiving at least national votes in non-conference play.
