ADRIAN, Mich. - The Warriors fell behind in their two games against the Siena Heights Saints on Sunday afternoon, taking losses on the road at SHU Softball Field. The Warriors had a solid defensive performance in the first game, fielding well and not allowing a single error. However, both games were a struggle for the Warriors at home plate, with hits not coming through.
In the day's first matchup, the Saints got ahead following an RBI single and multiple base hits. However, the Warriors were able to get out of the inning with two Saints on base thanks to solid fielding efforts by Chloe Gildea and Jessy Laird. The Saints continued to tack on runs after tough third and fourth innings for the Warriors at bat, capping off a six-unanswered run in the sixth inning with a two-RBI single. In the seventh inning, Gildea struck a homer into right field to break the ice for RCU, but the Warriors' comeback effort would end after two groundouts, with a final score of 6-1.
In the second game of the day, the Warriors had a tough first inning, with the Saints scoring nine runs after getting hot at the bats. The Warriors couldn't get going to counter the run, as Siena Heights added three more runs in the second inning. RCU created a scoring chance at the top of the fourth inning, with two singles by Emma Cronkright and Kylee Dillard. However, the Saints secured a pop-up to end the inning.
