Men's Wrestling's Nickolas Alayan earns WHAC Wrestler of the Week
(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Wrestlers of the Week for February 9-15, and Rochester Christian's Nickolas Alayan earned the honors this week following his performance at the WHAC Championships.
Alayan, a senior from Macomb, Michigan, earned the program's first WHAC Championship, going 2-0 at the Championships. Alayan picked up an 11-3 Major Decision in the semifinal bout, before upsetting the #3 wrestler in the NAIA with a pin in 2:16.
Alyayan is the third Warrior wrestler this season to earn a WHAC Wrestler of the Week, joining Cristian Rojas (11/17/2025) and Dylan Coleman (2/2/2026).
Nickolas Alayan earned an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships on March 5-7 with his placements on Saturday, which will be held at the Heartland Credit Union Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
