Men's Wrestling places 10th at the Albion Open; Rojas earns second-place finish
(Albion, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's wrestling team headed to the Albion Open on Sunday for their second contest of the week. The Warriors saw six wrestlers place within the top-8 in their respective weight classes, with the team recording a 19-20 record overall and placing 10th as a team.
Christian Rojas was the top placer for the Warriors at the event, earning a 3-1 record and a second-place finish. Rojas' first match of the day saw him come away with a tech fall, before earning a pair of match decisions at 10-4 and 9-8. Rojas ultimately would fall in the championship match.
Juliana Rojas was the next top finisher, placing fifth and earning a 4-2 record. Rojas won three of the matches with a pinfall, while winning the final match by a tech fall.
Sawyer Kuenzer also earned a 4-2 record and finished in seventh place. Kuenzer won matches by way of a pinfall, tech fall, and match decision.
Three Warriors placed eighth as they were led by Noah Iobe with a 3-3 record, while Marcus Abdal and Aaron Wilson both earned a 2-3 record.
