Men's Volleyball falls to Cornerstone 3-1 on Tuesday evening
(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's volleyball team returned to the Garth Pleasant Arena for the first time since March 1st, as they would take on the Golden Eagles from Cornerstone.
After Cornerstone earned the first five points of the set, Claudio Arato and Josh Eaton would get the first two RCU kills. CU continued their scoring run with 13 of the first 15 points, before errors from the Golden Eagles allowed RCU to score some points, before CU closed out the set with the win.
The second set began with teams scoring back and forth, with Josh Eaton grabbing the first kill. Xander Salte and Claudio Arato got in on the scoring as the teams battled out to an eight-all tie. Slate and Arato sprinkled in some points as CU closed the set out with a 17-5 run.
The Warriors got new life in the third set with Jonathan Chow starting the team off with a 2-0 lead on a pair of kills. RCU earned nine of the first 13 points, including a 4-0 run with Claudio Arato and Josh Eaton getting multiple kills. CU got to a 15-14 deficit before RCU went on a 6-2 run and would hold off the Golden Eagles to claim the set win.
The Golden Eagles offense got right back in it to start the final set of the evening, going on a 10-3 run to begin the set. Xander Slate earned an ace, while Cornerstone would continue scoring on the offensive end, being able to end the match.
