Men's Volleyball drops match to #10 Bethel

(Mishawaka, IN) - The Rochester Christian Warriors finished up their weekend in Indiana with a matchup against the Bethel Pilots. Bethel earned a 3-0 win on the day with wins of 25-11, 25-13, and 25-17.

 

Bethel jumped out to a 4-0 lead before RCU scored on an attack error. The first Warrior point would come from Josh Eaton with a kill. Xander Salte was able to get a kill in the set with RCU, taking advantage of Pilot errors. After a Jonathan Chow kill, BU scored the final seven points they needed to take the set win. 

 

Jailen Tatum started RCU off in set two with a kill, while Emarian Buchanan would add a solo block a couple of points later. The two teams would start to battle back and forth, with Xander Slate and Claudio Arato earning points. Bethel scored the final five points in the set to go up 2-0. 

 

Josh Eaton would start the final set of the evening with a kill as the set began seven ties till it was 12-12. From that point, 13 of the last 18 points would go the way of Bethel, giving the match win. 

 

TOP PERFORMERS

Josh Eaton led the attack with nine kills, with Xander Slate converting on five attacks. Jonathan Chow had 16 of his passes converted to kills.

 

Josh Eaton would lead the defensive backline as well with seven digs, with Nehemiah Rosillo digging out five attacks. 

 

UP NEXT

The Warriors will be back at the Garht Pleasant Arena on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 PM when they take on the Aquinas Saints.
