Men's Volleyball falls to Goshen in Friday night action
(Goshen, IN) - The Rochester Christian men's volleyball team headed down to Goshen, Indiana, for a WHAC matchup against the Goshen Maple Leafs. Goshen was able to take early leads in each set, on their way to the 3-0 victory. The match would see RCU Head Coach Pablo Sanchez take on his alma mater for the first time in his coaching career.
Xander Slate got the first point for the Warriors with a kill, as Goshen scored the first 13 of 17 points in the game. Jailen Tatum and Josh Eaton would earn kills throughout the set as the Maple Leafs continued their scoring, winning 25-10.
Goshen grabbed the first six points of the second set before RCU took advantage of a couple of errors by the Maple Leafs. Claudio Arato earned three kills in the set, while Josh Eaton earned five kills to lead the Warriors.
Josh Eaton and Xander Slate aided the Warriors to a 3-1 start in the eventual final set of the evening. After a 4-4 tie, Goshen earned 10 of the next 12 points, to take a commanding 14-6 lead. Jailen Tatum would earn kills as RCU went on a slight run of 9-3 with Nehehmiah Rosillo earning an ace in the run, before Goshen grabbed the final point.
TOP PERFORMERS
Josh Eaton led the team in kills with 13 to only three errors. Jonathan Chow assisted on 20 kills in the game.
Nehemiah Rosillo tallied 10 digs, and Jonathan Chow dug out eight attacks.
