Men's Volleyball falls to Indiana Tech
(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's volleyball team took on the visiting Warriors from Indiana Tech for their second of five straight home matches in conference play. RCU held tight with Indiana Tech throughout each of the sets, but IIT's experience was able to hold off Rochester Christian.
The Indiana Tech Warriors started the match with a 12-3 run to take a commanding hold in the set. The Warriors responded with five of the next six points, with Xander Slate, Claudio Arato, and Josh Eaton getting kills, and Emarion Buchanan and Jonathan Chow each earning two block assists. Another short 5-1 run got RCU to within four points, which included a Jonathan Chow service ace. IIT was able to close out the set with a 7-2 run.
IIT was once again able to start the second set with an 11-4 run to take an early advantage. RCU started to climb back in the set, aiding from IIT errors as well as kills from Claudio Arato and Nehemiah Rosillo. Indiana Tech closed out the set scoring six of the final nine points, with RCU's points coming from Xander Slate, Jailen Tatum, and Jonathan Chow.
RCU took an early 5-3 lead in the set with Josh Eaton earning three straight kills and Jonathan Chow hitting a service ace. IIT rebounded by scoring seven of the next nine points to retake the lead. Indiana Tech was able to take a 19-12 lead, before RCU mounted a slight comeback with Emarian Buchanan and Bao Nguyen earning kills, before IIT earned the match win.
TOP PERFORMERS
Josh Eaton led the RCU attack with 10 kills, with Xander Slate second with five. Jonathan Chow had 18 assists on the night.
Nehemiah Rosillo and Josh Eaton both recorded seven digs in the match, with Claudio Arato digging out six attacks. Jonathan Chow had four blocks in the game.

The Warriors will take on the Yellow Jackets from Defiance on Tuesday, February 17 at 7 PM, for the third game in the homestand.
