Men's Volleyball drops conference match to Cornerstone
(Grand Rapids, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's volleyball team continued their roadtrip to begin the 2026 season with a matchup against the Cornerstone Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles were able to grab all three sets played in order to claim the WHAC victory.
Jeremy Lee earned the first kill for the Warriors in the first set, althought the Golden Eagles were able to open the game on a 10-3 run. Josh Eaton helped RCU on two separate three-point runs in the middle of the set to with a kill and a pair of aces. CU scored six of the final 10 points to claim set one.
After CU scored the first three points of the second set, RCU earned the next five points with Jailen Tatum and Bao Nguyen earning blocks and Nguyen getting an ace. The Golden Eagles would retake control in the set, going on a 10-4 run. Josh Eaton and Nguyen converated a couple of attacks within the second set, before Cornerstone closed out the set.
Following a Josh Eaton kill to get the set started, Cornerstone would go on and score 11 of the next 15 points, enroute to the 25-8 set win.
TOP PERFORMERS
The attacking side was led by Josh Eaton with five kills. Jonathan Chow assisted on six attacks.
Nehemiah Rosillo recorded five digs to led the backline of the defense, with both Claudio Arato and Emarian Buchanan both having two blocks.

The Warriors will head back home for their first home game at Garth Pleasant Arena on Tuesday, February 10 at 7 PM.
