Men's Track and Field places 8th at the WHAC Championships
(Grand Rapids, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's indoor track & field team headed to Aquinas on Saturday to compete at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships. The Warriors would earn an 8th-place finish after accumulating 10 points throughout the event.
TRACK RESULTS
Ethan Eisenhauer led off the track results, taking part in the 60, 200, and 400-meter runs. Eisenhauer earned times of 7.69, 25.04, and 56.99, respectively in those events.
Ethan Dinanath ran as part of the 200 and 400-meter runs, earning times of 24.32 and 53.42, respectively.
Reece Welch ran a pair of personal-best times in the 600 and 1,000-meter races. Welch earned a 1:35.02 in the 600-meter, before running 1 2:59.93 in the 1,000-meter.
Wyatt Emmons took part in both the 1,000 meter and the 1 mile races, earning a pair of top-15 finishes. In the 1,000-meter he ran a time of 2:44.73 and in the mile ran a 4:42.96.
Eli Hullinger would also take part in the mile race, earning a time of 4:44.70.
Chad Kocsis ran the 3,000-meter, earning a time of 10:22.84.
Cameron Stermer closed out the track events, running the 5,000-meter and finishing with a time of 15:48.64.
FIELD RESULTS
Hayden Josef took home a fourth-place finish in the high jump event, reaching 1.94 meters.
Julian Holt was right behind him in fifth place, also hitting the 1.94-meter height.
The Warriors would pick up their final points of the event in the weight throw from Nathan Brewer. Brewer earned the team a point by finishing in eighth place after throwing a personal best toss of 13.92 meters. Brewer would also compete in the shot put, throwing 10.64 meters.
Michael Reed would also throw in both the weight throw and shot put events. In the weight throw, Reed had a toss of 11.30 meters, while throwing the shot put 11.35 meters.
Jaylon Moore competed in both throwing events as well, throwing the weight throw 8.89 meters, while fouling on his three opportunities in the shot put.
Thomas Spires rounded up the throwing events, competing and throwing a personal best in the shot put, with a mark of 7.51 meters.
CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER TEAM
Nathan Brewer was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The junior was honored for his commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
ALL-ACADEMIC
The WHAC announced its All-Academic teams, which include sophomores and above in Academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The six Warriors honored were Chad Kocsis, Ethan Dinanath, Ethen Eisenhauer, Michael Reed, Nathan Brewer, and Eli Hullinger.
