(Goshen, IN) - The Rochester Christian men's soccer team traveled to Goshen, Indiana, to close out non-conference play and end its road trip against the Maple Leafs. Both of the teams' offenses would explode in the second half as a total of eight goals were scored in the final 45 minutes, including Goshen netting five goals. Following the loss, the Warriors' record falls to 1-5-0, while Goshen improves to 6-1-1.
The Goshen offense took command of the game right from the start, scoring 1:32 into the match on a cross that beat Tauzik to the right. The Maple Leafs kept up the pressure, recording a trio of corner kicks throughout the next 10 minutes. Goshen nabbed their second goal off a cross for the 2-0 lead. Just before the first 45 minutes were up, Goshen netted their third goal of the game.
After another early Goshen goal to start the second half, RCU was able to pull within two goals with back-to-back goals themselves. In the 56th minute, Shadrack Onyango scored on a rebound for the first RCU score. Just a minute later, in the 57th minute, Ivan Stojanovic scored on a penalty kick.
The Maple Leafs' offense responded, scoring three of the next four goals throughout the final 33 minutes. Milos Stojakovic tallied his second goal of the season, scoring off a deflection from Shadrack Onyango.
Kris Tauzik (1-5-0) stayed in the net for the full 90 minutes and made four saves in the match.
