Men's Golf finishes 11th at WHAC Fall Preview

(Augusta, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's golf team competed at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Fall Preview on Monday and Tuesday. The event featured teams golfing in a pair of rounds on Monday before the final 18 on Tuesday. 

 

Rochester Christian finished the tournament in 11th place after finishing with a total score of 960. 

 

RCU SCORES
Alex Steele led the Warriors in the tournament with a score of 235 throughout the three rounds, and a pair of 77s as his one-round low. Jamie Sanchez and Tomas Beltran were next, finishing back-to-back with scores of 241 and 242, respectively. Sanchez had a one-round low of 77, while Beltran's one-round low was 75.

 

The final two golfers for RCU were Francisco Funtanet and Tyler Edwards. Funtanet totaled a 244 for the event with a low of 78, while Edwards totaled 246 over the three rounds with a 79 low score.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Northwestern Ohio took home the top team spot, finishing 16 strokes better than Lawrence Tech, with a total score of 877. 

 

Also from Northwestern Ohio, Jaiden Pass beat out the rest of the field for the individual title with a score of 216, one shot better than his teammate.

UP NEXT

The team will next be back on the course on Friday, September 26, when they travel to Farmington Hills, Michigan, for the LTU Fall Invitational at the Farmington Hills Golf Club.
