SEASON PREVIEW: Men's Golf starts its Fall Season on Friday

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian Men's Golf team heads to the Lou Collins Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday for the first day of a two-day event. Doug McKay is in his first year as head coach of the team. 

 


2025 Schedule Outlook

Following their opening match, the Warriors will be a part of four matches in the month of September as they start off with the Lourdes Invite on the 9th at the Legacy Golf Club, followed by a Cleary Invite on the 19th at Chemung Hills Golf Club, with the WHAC Fall Preview on the 22nd and 23rd, and the LTU Fall Invite will close out the month on the 26th. The WHAC Fall Preview will take place at Stoatin Brae Golf Club, while the LTU Invite will occur at Farmington Hills Golf Club. 

 

Two final matches in October will round up the fall season with another Cleary and Lourdes Invite, which will take place on the 7th and 13th, respectively. 

 


Rochester Christian Personnel

Nine players are a part of the golf team this season, with Esteban Arango, Tomas Beltran, Tyler Edwards, Francisco Funtanet, Daniel Runkel, and Alex Steele returning from last year's team. 

 

The trio of newcomers is Braylon Games, Jamie Sanchez, and Max Teschendorf

 


2024 Team Stats

As a team, they played a total of 64 team rounds of golf last season throughout 10 matches. The nine golfers averaged just over a score of 80 throughout those rounds.

2025 WHAC Preseason Poll

The Warriors as a team were voted 10th in the WHAC Preseason Coaches Poll after garnering 33 points. 

 

Lawrence Tech took home the top spot after earning 138 points with seven first-place votes, while Northwestern Ohio was narrowly behind them with 136 points and four first-place votes. The rest of the top five were Cornerstone (108 points), Indiana Tech (105), and Cleary (94 and one first-place vote). 

 

The final six teams were Lourdes (73), Siena Heights (69), Aquinas (67), Madonna (64), Defiance (29), and UM-Dearborn (20).
