Men's Bowling competes at the Midwest Collegiate Classic

(Addison, IL) - The Rochester Christian men's bowling team headed to Illinois to compete at the Midwest Collegiate Classic at the Stardust Lanes on Saturday. The event featured teams bowling in five-team games, followed by 16 baker games, with 68 teams in attendance. 

 

The Warriors as a team would finish in 46th place and a total score of 7,647 pins throughout all games. They tallied a team score of 4,661 pins and a baker score of 2,986 in the baker games.

 

RCU SCORES

Mike Pupin was the top individual Warrior for the event, after totaling 1,032 pins throughout the five-game series. Pupin had a high game of 240. Next up was Nolan Matz who totaled 893 pins in his five games. Matz scored a high game of 197.

 

Three Warriors would bowl in four of the five games for the team series. Alex Miller led the trio with a 785 score and a 196.25 average, while holding a high game of 211. Nehemiah Bachmann bowled a 780 score, with a 195 average, and bowled a 213 high game. Brian Henry would bowl a score of 679 and a 169.75 average, while bowling a high game of 206. 

 

Three RCU bowlers would round out the total scoring for the team series, with Clinton Harris III leading the group with a 201 game, while Carter Harris and Brandon Rinke would bowl a 160 and a 131, respectively. 

 

REST OF FIELD PERFORMANCES

Luke Winter earned the top individual spot at the tier-1 event with a 1,223 total pinfall. Winter averaged 244.6 pins per game and had a high game of 269 for the Wisconsin-Whitewater bowler. 

 

Calumet would earn the top team spot at the event, with a total score of 8,962 pins.

The Warriors will get back on the lanes on Saturday, January 24, as they take on the final WHAC tournament of the regular season at the Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan.
