Men's Bowling places 7th at the third WHAC Event

(Sterling Heights, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's bowling team headed down the road to the 5 Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan, for the third WHAC event of the season. The event featured 11 total teams bowling in 15 team games, followed by four baker set games. 

 

The team would finish the event in sixth place as they totaled 5,739 pins for the event. They recorded 2,759 pins in the team games, while scoring 2,980 across the baker sets. 

 

The team series average of 919.67 is the seventh-highest mark in program history. 

 

RCU SCORES

Clinton Harris took home the top spot for the Warriors with an 18th-place finish as he totaled 610 pins with a 235 high game. Brian Henry was next up for RCU with a total score of 510 pins and a high game of 190. 

 

Mike Pupin bowled in a pair of games for RCU, totaling 439 pins and scoring a 279 high game. The other three Warriors to bowl in two games were Nolan Matz, Jackson Vlassis, and Alex Miller. Matz finished with a score of 380 and a 198 high game, while Vlassis bowled a 377 and a 218 high game, with Miller totaling 327 and a 186 high game. 

 

The final bowler for the team games was Nehemiah Bachmann with a score of 116. 

 

RCU JV SCORES

In the JV portion of the tournament, the Warriors finished in eighth place as they earned a total of 5,225 pins. They recorded 2,443 pins in the team games and 2,782 pins in the baker sets.

REST OF FIELD PERFORMANCES

Indiana Tech would earn the top team spot at the tournament, finishing with a total of 6,367 pins. 

 

Michael Martins from Lawrence Tech earned the top individual spot after posting a score of 725 over the three games.

The Warriors will be back in action when they head out to Las Vegas, Nevada, for a pair of meets at the South Point Hotel & Bowling Center. The Warriors will compete at the Glenn Carlson Invitational (Dec. 18-19) and the Collegiate Shoot-Out (Dec. 20-21).
