Mike Pupin wins second WHAC Bowler of the Week honor of the season
(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its weekly Players of the Week for November 3-9, and Rochester Christian's men's bowler Mike Pupin has earned this week's honors for aiding the team to a first-place finish at the Warrior Classic.
Pupin, a sophomore from New Baltimore, Michigan, took the top individual spot for the Warrior Classic this past weekend with a record-setting performance. Pupin won the event by 137 pins, as he averaged 264.50 pins over his four-game series. Pupin totaled 1,058 pins in the games with a 289 high game.
Pupin set the four-game series record for the Warriors with his score of 1,058, which is 100 pins better than the now second-place mark. Pupin's score also aided the team to set a new program-high four-game team series average, which is 1,088.25.
Nolan Matz won the only other WHAC Bowler of the Week honor this season for the Warriors.
The bowling team will next hit the lanes on November 22nd when they head to Monroe, Michigan, for the BGSU Falcon Classic.
