Men's Bowling earns 2nd place finish at American Heartland #2; Bachmann bowls a 300

(Canton, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's bowling team bowled for the second straight day at the SuberBowl in Canton, Michigan, taking part in the second American Heartland Tournament of the season. The event featured teams bowling 15 team games, followed by 15 3-baker games.

 

The Warriors would finish in second place for the tournament with a total score of 6,271 pins, as they scored 3,151 pins in the team games and 3,120 pins in the baker sets. The Warriors' team series average of 1050.33 is the highest mark in program history for a 3-game series. 

 

Both Nehemiah Bachmann and Alex Miller were named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts. 

 

RCU SCORES

Nehemiah Bachmann started off the RCU scoring strong with a first-place finish for the event, recording a score of 701, which is the second highest in program history, while also bowling a 300-game in his final team game. Also placing within the top-5 was Alex Miller, who totaled 675 pins for the event, as he ended up in fifth-place. Miller's high game for the tournament was a 247. 

 

The final RCU bowler to bowl in all three games was Clinton Harris III. Harris III scored 598 total pins, with a high mark of 228 in his second game. Mike Pupin and Jackson Vlassis both bowled in a pair of games. Pupin scored a 395 with a 217 high game, while Vlassis recorded a 357 and a 191 high game. 

 

Brian Henry and Nolan Matz closed out the RCU bowling, scoring a 237 and 188, respectively. 

 

RCU JV SCORES

The Warriors took home the top JV spot in that portion of the tournament, totaling 5,721 total pins, taking the top spot over Lawrence Tech by 6 pins. 

 

Carter Harris' mark of 718 is the highest in program history for a three-game series. Andrew Florence also enters the record books at #6, with his score of 628.

REST OF FIELD PERFORMANCES

Lawrence Tech would wind up pulling away from RCU following the team games, winning by 196 pins over the Warriors, totaling 6,467 pins.
