Men's Bowling takes 14th at the C300 Western Shootout
(Indianapolis, IN) - The Rochester Christian men's bowling team headed down to Indiana to compete at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout at the Western Lanes. The event featured 29 teams bowling in 30 team games, followed by 16 baker games.
The Warriors finished the tournament in 14th place, scoring 6,051 pins throughout the team games, before tallying 3,044 pins for the baker games.
RCU SCORES
The top RCU bowler, Nolan Matz, saw himself place 14th, totaling 1,310 pins, which is third-most in program history in a six-game series, and tallying a high game of 266. Next up was Mike Pupin, who recorded the ninth-most pins in a six-game series with 1,225 pins and a high game of 244.
Mike Henry and Alex Miller were the next two RCU bowlers who finished with six games. Henry totaled 1,200 pins, while Miller tallied 1,177 pins, and they scored high games of 236 and 224, respectively. Jackson Vlassis bowled in five games for the Warriors, scoring a 980 and a 196 average, while bowling a 202 high game. The final bowler for the team was Clinton Harris III, who recorded a 159 in his sole game.
REST OF THE FIELD
Marian University finished atop the leaderboard with a total pinfall of 9,827 throughout the 46 total games bowled.
Taking first place by 30 pins was Emmanuel McPherson from Lindenwood University, as he totaled 1,425 pins throughout his six games.
