Bowling Finishes Top Six In Warrior Classic

Waterford Township, Mich. – The Rochester University Varsity Bowling Team started off its season with a sixth-place finish for the Men and a fifth-place finish for the Women at our Rochester University Warrior Classic today (Sept. 24) at 300 Bowl. The Warrior Men scored 6658 and the Women, 5880. Both sides of the program had great starts and the new members are showing up huge for the Warrior Men and Women.
Mitchell Martin (JR) was the top Varsity Men's today for the Warriors with an eleventh-place finish after a five-game score of 977. He had an average of 195.4 pins per game.
Luke Acton (SO) also had a great day with a cumulative score of 975, good for 12th place for the day. He had an average of 195 pins over his five games, just .4 lower than his teammate Mitchel.
Nataleigh Eagle (FR) topped the Warrior ladies with a sixth-place finish to earn herself an average of 179.4 pins per game. Eagle is a Freshman and this was her first college tournament.
Tamera Robinson (SR) also placed inside the top-10 with a 8th place finish with an average of 176 pins per game. Robinson is entering her Senior season and looks to continue her consistent top-ten performances.
Hannah Traczynski (FR) also finished in the top 20 after a five-game average of 166 giving her a 16th place finish. Traczynski is also a Freshman and is also a great addition to the squad.
Alex MIller, Brendan Kasa, Shelby Opalka, and Julia Helferty all had top-ten finishes on the Junior Varsity Squads all in their first collegiate tournament as Freshmen. Topping the teams Helferty ended with a 181 avg. and Miller with a 189.6 in their respective games.
Rochester University returns to action next weekend (Oct. 1) in the Tier 1 - Midwest Collegiate Championships in Wauwatosa Wisconsin and then again (Oct. 8) for the first WHAC jamboree of the season. The event will be hosted by Lawrence Tech and will be played at Five Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
