Men's Basketball earns 25-point WHAC win over Aquinas

(Grand Rapids) - The Rochester Christian men's basketball team headed to Grand Rapids for a WHAC matchup against the Aquinas Saints. The Warriors' defense picked up in the second half en route to the 25-point win. 

The Warriors improve to 14-7 on the year and 9-6 in conference play. 

FIRST HALF

Tymias Williams and James Fisher opened the game scoring buckets on back-to-back possessions, before the Saints went on a 14-3 run over the next several minutes. Jamil Mashhour, Linden Holder, and Darnell Turner Jr. quickly got the Warriors right back into the game. An AQ three-pointer gave them a 17-13 lead with 10 minutes left. 

RCU would go on a 12-3 run, being led by Dustin Farrow, Tymias Williams, and James Fisher. The two teams started to go basket-for-basket, which included Fisher and Williams combining to score the final 18 points in the half. 

SECOND HALF

Tymias Williams and James Fisher continued their scoring streak with the first four points of the second half before Darnell Turner Jr. hit a free throw. Linden Holder and Ashton Goul would get in on the scoring for the half. 

Tymias Williams was able to put the lead up to 10 points, which it would be at least for the minimum of the game. The Warriors would round out the final 10 minutes, going on a 22-5 run to increase the lead out to 25 points. 

TOP PERFORMERS

Tymias Williams led the team with 25 points in the game, while James Fisher and Darnell Turner Jr. tallied 18 and 11 points, respectively. Linden Holder led the team with five assists. 

Tymias Williams brought down 12 rebounds in the game, with James Fisher having seven. Linden Holder created a pair of turnovers, and Williams blocked a pair of shots.
