Men's Basketball drops matchup against #14 Indiana Tech on Saturday
(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's basketball team took on the visiting Warriors from Indiana Tech. IIT used a strong first half, outscoring RCU by eight to earn a hard-fought 79-73 win. RCU falls to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in WHAC play.
FIRST HALF
The first four points of the game came from IIT before Tyler Allen got RCU on the board with a jumper. Following a couple of scoreless minutes, Tymias Williams tallied a pair of buckets, with IIT nabbing two threes. The three-point shooting for Indiana Tech would keep pressure on Rochester Christian, as they would open up an early 10-point lead.
Coming out of the under-10 media timeout, Lucas Brannen hit a pair of free throws before Tymias Williams netted a pair of shots to bring the lead back down to four points. The 7:35 mark had Linden Holder and Williams hitting a three and a jump shot, respectively, to give RCU a slim lead. Indiana Tech would respond, breaking a nearly three-minute scoring drought with a three of their own. IIT closed out the final five minutes of the first half with a 14-4 run, putting them up eight at the break.
SECOND HALF
Linden Holder opened the second half right away with a three-pointer on the opening possession, before the team traded scores with Darnell Turner Jr., Dustin Farrow and Tyler Allen all adding points. Tymias Williams and Linden Holder would keep RCU within range, adding multiple baskets.
The final 10 minutes saw James Fisher, Tymias Williams, and Tyler Allen each knock down a couple of free throw attempts. Fisher would record his first field goal attempt with Dustin Farrow recording a three to bring RCU to within three points with about five minutes left. Indiana Tech though, would respond by hitting their own attempts towards the end of the game to give IIT the win.
TOP PERFORMERS
A pair of Warriors scored at least 20 points, with Tymias Williams leading both teams with 26 points, while Linden Holder scored 23. Williams would lead the team with five assists.
James Fisher tallied a team-high eight rebounds, while Linden Holder and Tymias Williams each brought down six. Williams created three turnovers and blocked a pair of shots, while Fisher added a pair of blocks as well.

The Warriors will be back in action to close out the 2025 home schedule against Cornerstone next Saturday, December 13 with a 3 PM tip-off.
