RCU MEN’S BASKETBALL SIGNS DARNELL TURNER JR.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - The Rochester Christian University men's basketball program is pleased to announce the signing of Darnell Turner Jr. Darnell is a 6'2 guard from Detroit who most recently played at Cerro Coso Community College in California. Darnell completed his prep career at Center Line High School. Most recently, Darnell helped lead Cerro Coso to a 25-7 record in the 23-24 season.

During Darnell's time at Cerro Coso, the Coyotes advanced all the way to the CCCAA state Quarterfinals. Darnell averaged 14.8 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 1.5 steals per game, and shot over 58.1% from the field. In addition to an impressive year on the stat sheet, Darnell was awarded 1st-Team All-Conference honors and was named to the All-State Tournament Team. Darnell had a successful prep career at Center Line as well where he was named 1st-Team All-MAC Bronze and 2nd-Team All-State.

Darnell is the son of Brianna Chase and Darnell Turner Sr. Darnell had this to say about why he chose RCU: "It just felt like home. I got along with the players very well and I love the coaching staff!"

Coach Klint Pleasant had this to say about Darnell's signing: "Darnell is a strong guard that is very crafty. He can score the ball in multiple ways and loves to distribute the ball as well. He has a good IQ and just wants to win. He scored the ball in junior college and is used to winning. We are fortunate to have him."
