Baseball falls to Spring Arbor in non-conference bout

(Spring Arbor, MI) - The Rochester Christian baseball team took a slight break from conference play to travel to play the Cougars from Spring Arbor.

Keaton Diserens earned his first-ever start on the mound for RCU, pitching two innings, allowing one run on four walks.

The Cougars grabbed a run in each of the second, third, and fourth innings, while RCU left two runners on base throughout the first four innings.

Beau Falkenhagen got the Warriors first hit of the game in the sixth inning on a single to left field, while SAU made it a 4-0 game through six innings. The seventh inning would be where Spring Arbor fully took control of the game, taking advantage of walks from RCU pitchers to score eight runs.

Ryder Zeiman and Cael Kuzinski both grabbed hits in the eighth inning to attempt to stretch a run across the board.

Jayden Peterson and Connor Foreman each pitched two innings with Peterson giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit with three strikeouts, while Formeand allowed one unearned run with a hit and two strikeouts.

Christian Rivera, Jeffrey Preston, Gavin Swigart, and Joey Wagner would close out the final two innings, with Rivera and Preston giving up four runs each. Wagner struck out three batters in the game.
