Men's Hockey welcomes 9 recruits to its 2025-26 recruiting class

(Rochester Hills, MI) - Rochester Christian University's Head Coach, Dr. Rick Fenwick, and Assistant Coach, Tyler Kolly, are excited to announce their recruiting class for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. The newcomers this season all come in with different and valuable experiences. The recruiting class includes nine total recruits, including a pair of ACHA transfers.

Brody Vachon – Freshman - Defender– Timmins, ON – Fort Wayne Spacemen (USPHL)

Brody comes to RCU having spent the past two seasons in the USPHL. Last year with the Spacemen, the Timmins native scored 7 goals and had 13 helpers, playing a big role on the blue line.

"Brody is a strong-skating puck-moving defenseman who will bring a ton of skill with and without the puck." Fenwick


Preston Stenzel – Freshman - Forward – Macomb, MI – Motor City Gamblers (USPHL)

Preston joins the Warriors out of the USPHL. A local Dakota high school graduate, Stenzel averaged nearly a point per game in two seasons with the Motor City Gamblers. 

"Preston brings a scoring touch up front with soft hands and nose for the net." Kolly


Michael Gallaway Jr. – Freshman - Goalie – St. Louis, MO – St. Louis University (ACHA)

'Magic Mike' enters the Warriors' net as a transfer from the St. Louis Billikens. Michael brings both ACHA experience as well as 4 years of high school out of the Missouri area. He transfers over as a Freshman looking to bring good fortune between the pipes for years to come.

"Michael transfers from SLU; he brings a strong presence both on the net and in the locker room." Fenwick


Andrew Scott – Freshman - Forward – Fontana, CA – Iroquois Falls Storm (NOJHL)

Andrew is a California native, excited to join the Hawks Nest at RCU. Scott spent 3 seasons in the NOJHL. He will bring a ton of size and skill to the forward group. 

"Andrew brings some size and skill to the lineup. We love his versatility to play up and down are lineup. He is the kind of individual who will push for top minutes from day one." - Kolly


Trey Hoffmann – Freshman - Goalie – Osseo, MN – Crownest Pass Crush (NJHL)

Trey comes to RCU off a season with Crownest in the NJHL. Trey spent a high school season playing for the Nybro Vikings in Sweden. He just finished up a two-year stint in the NJHL. The Minnesota-born goalie will make an immediate impact on and off the ice. 

"Trey will be a future leader of our back end. We love his overseas experience and well-mannered temperament." - Kolly


Andrew Beausang – Freshman - Forward - North Andover, MA – Valley Jr Warriors (EHL)

Andrew joins the RCU program fresh from two seasons in the EHL with the Valley Jr. Warriors. Andrew brings a gritty scoring element to the forward unit. Beausang will be a pest for opposing goalies all year long.

"Andrew is scoring winger; we expect to bring energy to our lineup every night!" Fenwick


Hayden Wilson – Freshman - Defender - Prince Rupert, BC – Crownest Pass Crush (NJHL)

Hayden comes to the team from Prince Rupert, BC. The Western Canadian spent two seasons in the NJHL. A two-year teammate of Trey Hoffmann. These two look to continue their strong bond in the future as Warriors. 

"Hayden is a tall man with a mean streak. He will bring the level of physicality up on our back end that will make us hard to play against." Kolly


Garrett Benoit – Senior - Forward - Grosse Pointe Farms, MI – Concordia University (ACHA)

'Benny' looks to finish out his ACHA career with the Warriors. He joins many teammates from the past as he takes his last ride this season for RCU. Garrett spent the last 3 seasons with Concordia University and will hit the 100-game mark with the Warriors.

"Garrett will be a leader for us this season. He brings a ton of ACHA experience, and his two-way game fits in incredibly with our team's commitment to playing hard at both ends of the rink." Fenwick


Jake Wishnewitz – Freshman - Forward – Toledo, OH – Whitmer HS (USHS – OH)

Jake is a local Toledo product. The youngest freshman of the group, Jake, will be forefront for the Warriors for years to come. 

"Jake is our only high school recruit of the class. We think he will develop extremely quickly. Despite being a late addition, we see Jake as a cornerstone of this recruiting class with his skill and size." - Fenwick
